Oier Guillan Bermudez

Donostia-San Sebastian, 1975

He studied journalism and today is the coordinator of the Mikelazulo Cultural Association. As an organiser, actor and writer, he has been involved in projects promoted by this association (since it began in 1995).

He has had many articles published in different magazines and newspapers. Between 1995 and 2002 he wrote features, interviews and short articles on culture for the magazine Lau haizetara. Furthermore, he has had opinion articles published in the Hika magazine and has contributed literary reviews to the supplements of the newspapers Gara and Euskaldunon Egunkaria.

He graduated in Information Sciences at the University of the Basque Country (EHU) in 1998.

Between 1996 and 1997 he was a member of the editorial staff during the birth of the Oarso television broadcasting service. He was the artistic director of the
Beste gu series produced by the EITB [broadcasting corporation of the Basque Autonomous Community] and Baleuko throughout the lifetime of the series (2004-2005).

He contributed to the Euskadi Irratia radio station morning magazine programme during 2000 (throughout the summer) and to the cultural programme Ahatearen aharrausia on the Oiartzun Irratia radio station throughout the period 2000-2001.

He did literary reviews on Oiartzun radio from 2002 to 2003. At the same time he was responsible for literary commentary on INFO 7 radio in 2006

He has done voice-overs for many audiovisual pieces of work (documentaries on the Donostia-San Sebastian marching drum festival, etc.).

He has taken part in many performances both in the Basque Country and abroad like the Omo (1996) performance at Seville’s "El local" hall (La Alameda), organised by the La Jauría group. The Bixotx Tam!padak (2001) performance with Mikelazulo in Senegal (performances and workshops in Dakar and La Cassamance); the Zubibegibidezu performance (2003) with Mikelazulo all over Ecuador (performances and workshops in Quito, Pitxiyacu and Pucahuaico). Poetry, theatre and contemporary dance in Mugainditzen (2004) with Patrizia Franko and DJ Maure at the Vermell hall in Manresa (Catalonia) and the Tz-ts-tx street performance (2005) in the Bosnian town of Gorazde along with many musicians, painters and the Déjà Vu puppet theatre, in cooperation with the SOS Balkans organisation.
