Ixiar Rozas Elizalde

Lasarte-Oria (Gipuzkoa), 1972.

She holds a degree in journalism and a Master in Scriptwriting from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She has worked as a reporter on a number of papers and as a scriptwriter for television. She contributes to the press and is a founder and coordinator of the Memorie Periferiche and Periferiak seminars that bring different artistic languages together.

She says: "When I have something to tell, I start to work on a story, the characters and subjects. However, before I put pen to paper I have to decide how it is to start and finish; I simply have to know where I'm going. My love of reading has led me to write. I draw continually from Clarice Lispector, Alejandra Pizarnik, John Berger, Millás, Vila-Matas, Atxagaà"

Her first novel Edo zu edo ni (Erein) was published in 2000. The following year saw the publishing of her work Sartu, korrontea dabil (Erein), which was nominated for one of the Euskadi Prizes.
